Source Code

Michelle Monaghan and Jake Gyllenhaal in "Source Code"

In “Source Code, asthma ” a soldier from the front lines in Afghanistan finds himself on a secret mission to stop a domestic terror plot in Chicago. He leaps into the final eight-minutes of memories as experienced by one of the doomed passengers on a train that explodes. Directed by Duncan Jones, we’ll see if this sci-fi psychological thriller holds up to Jones’ previous work, “Moon.”

Next up, one of the weirdest puppets-meet-Hitler movies you’ll ever see: “Jacboots On Whitehall.” It’s a WWII fantasy in the twisted vein of “Inglorious Basterds” with a healthy dose of British humor and some extraordinary animation work.

Finally, “The Truth Is Out There” explores the weird world of conspiracy theories from all walks of life. Director Phil Leirness and his partner Dean Haglund (of “The X-Files” fame) traveled the world to hear about everything from aliens to 9/11 to “big pharma” and everything in between. It’s a strange journey filled with strong opinion and may just inspire you to seek the “Truth” on your own.

All that plus our roundup of the week’s Honorable Mentions and much more!

Take Me Home Tonight

Topher Grace and Tori Frederking in "Take Me Home Tonight"

It’s an all new DVD Geeks featuring the “Limitless” mind-expansion of Bradley Cooper, sovaldi the ’80s throwback “Take Me Home Tonight” with Topher Grace and a very special Geek Pick “The Shaft.” Yes, that’s “The Shaft” with Naomi Watts and a haunted elevator, not Richard Roundtree kicking butt as “Shaft.”
